COME ON BOYS!

Friday, August 15, 2008 – 4:00 AM
I have just finished two grueling days of meeting everyone i possibly could and i now am actually feeling that i can relax a little and actually watch the rest of the people. I know it is independence day and i am hoping we can keep the campaign for a few more medals going.
I am going to spend the today rooting on Gagan, Sanjeev, Mahesh, Leander, Akhil and if i have forgotten someone i apologize but will be cheering for all our people.
I hope we get through with positive results but am sure that the days forward we will have another one of our great athletes to celebrate about and i am looking forward to that.

Hi Abhinav

I am an Indian from UK...first of all congratulations on your achievement and I must tell you that I am very impressed with your mature and humble mannerism...I am very proud of you and wish that todays youth in India nd everywhere in the world can learn something from you. I think we have great potential in India but still it is unfortunate that amongst a country with more than 100 cr population we struggle for even a single gold medal. As you rightly said that we should promote all sports and all sportsmen. You have made India proud , enjoy the moment...best wishes for everything in future...

Ah, one more Independence day. Since our Independence, we have created four Indias by population(from 250 million to 1.1 billion), but haven't developed four international sports that kids/Indians can play all over India right from villages to cities and could compete consistently all over the world.

hey,
firstly congrats on the great win. I have been left speechless in regards to your achievement.
Must say you brought tears in my eyes, as I never expected it.
People are quick when it comes to critising failure and applaud success. But have no idea as to how much hard yard each of our athletes have put in. This made me a big fan of you, when you actually dedicated your medal to the rest of the athletes.
I hope your victory has set an example for people to follow.

Cheers and happy independence day.

Hi Abhinav...congrats to the unmatchable achievement. But I believe that winning is not all about talent; you performed well in many competitions and finished 1st in many occassions. No doubt you have the talent. Performing in Olympics is a nerve game? I hope the 'mind' has got a definite edge over talent in big occasions like olympics.

Great job done Abhinav. Let the euphoria last forever. We in India think about olympians only when the event is on & then tend to forget. This is not the case with cricket. Even Saina could have won she had a performance trainer travelling with her. It was all about mental toughness

Anything which clicks in this country is because of individual effort. Maybe some leading corporates like the Tatas ,Ambanis & Mittals can establish a sports excellence center similar to ISB,Hyderabad.

Jawaman said...

Hi Abhinav.
Hearty congratulations on your achievement.
What was really heartening to see was the way you have carried yourself right from the time you won the Gold.
I am happy that there were none of the antics that some sportspersons and cricketers put on display, more often purely for the misguided sections of the public and media.

I wish you and all sportspersons representing India, the very best in all future competitions.

Happy Independence Day.

Seeing the sales of air rifles rise high, it can be concluded that your win for sure has inspired many youngsters to try out shooting. Your blog is awesome and please keep this blog going.
I just hope that in future the government takes Olympic sport seriously. There are many sports beyond Cricket and the government needs to fully support them.
I just hope India wins many more medals in Beijing.Lets hope for the BEST

Hi guys, I've been looking at this site for sometime as a guest and decided to join today so hello everyone this is my first post. I saw a post on another site about a site which pays you to search in a toolbar just like the windows live one and decided to check it out and seems really promising. It basically jus searches on ask.co.uk and they pay 3p a click and you are paid 10% of any referals earnings, 5% of whoever your referals refer and 2.5% of any of the people they recruit's earnings. It's interesting and i've managed to clock up to ?14 in 8 days with no referalls. If anyone wants to join, go ahead, may as well get paid for something we all do anyway! Hope this is helpful!

Anonymous said...

I'm making about .02 pounds per search which I think is pretty average. It's pretty good considering I already use that search function a lot anyway. It's nice to be paid for things that I already do. I haven't made payout yet, but it's still really good money considering the USD isn't worth much compared to the UK pound.
